Fuel Rail Covers Install
Passenger's Side Instructions:
Remove the oil filler cap and the oil dipstick tube. Remove any convoluted tubing(wire loom) that you may have on your throttle or cruise control cables. This can be replaced later.

Remove the bracket holding the throttle and cruise cables together. This is a wire tie around the middle of the passenger side coil pack and has a round hole at the top through which the cables pass. Save or discard this piece, it's up to you, but it will not be used after installation.
Pull the throttle and cruise cables away from the fuel rail and towards the intake manifold, otherwise they will prevent the cover's clips from snapping onto the fuel rail. The cables will lay on top the cover after installation.

Start by sliding the back of the cover under the large wire bundle that runs from the firewall over to the PCM. This bundle is about 2" in diameter and you can't miss it. This is the time to be very careful with the cover as you are working close to the little spikes that hold the windshield cowl in place. Anyone who has changed their sparkplugs or done other work in this area knows these spikes will tear your hands to pieces and will really tear up the covers, so please take your time. You may even want to wrap a cloth or something similar around the rear of the cover to protect the finish. Just make sure you can remove it later.

Now, gently slide the cover back until you can slide the front portion of the cover over the oil dipstick and oil filler cap. This requires some patience and a gentle hand. You are sliding painted edges over metal and it can scratch or chip the paint if not careful. Again, you may want to put some blue painter's tape around the inner edges of these two holes until the cover is seated in place.
Gently push down on the cover to lower it in position on the coil packs. Slide the bottom edge down toward the exhaust manifold. You may have to gently bend the bottom half of the cover down while at the same time pulling out on the air pipe. Place the throttle and cruise cables on top the cover.
Start with the rear clip and make sure nothing is obstructing it and push down on it until it seats on the fuel rail. Do the same for the front clip. The front clip should be positioned just behind the Schraeder Valve on the larger diameter portion of the fuel rail. The large bundle of wire in the back and the oil filler cap will help hold the cover in place.
Replace oil filler cap and dipstick and convoluted tubing if you wish. That's it for the passenger side.

Driver's Side Instructions:
Before you do anything with the cover, you must separate the two fuel lines. They are wrapped together with heat shield tape. This tape is not necessary once the covers are on. Let me emphasize caution here. You are working with fuel lines so be careful. Start by unwrapping the tape by GENTLY making a small slit. Pull all the tape off and then separate the lines. They are held together with a bit of adhesive. I took a utility knife just to break the bond. The actual lines are wrapped in this outer rubber sleeve you are separating, but still use some caution..

There is a large wire harness directly in the middle of the driver's side coil pack. This is clipped onto the coil pack with a small metal clip. Take a screwdriver or other tool of choice and gently pry this harness off the clip so that it will drop down a bit. If you leave it in place it will not allow the cover to seat properly.

This is the point where some patience and a gentle hand is required. The slits in the fuel rail cover fit around the two fuel lines you just separated. The notch in the rear is for the air pump hose(if you still have your air system). Gently maneuver the cover toward the air hose while at the same time fitting it around the fuel lines. This is like the spark plug change on our cars: the first time is a pain, but it gets easier.
Please be careful when fitting around the fuel lines. Again, you may want to use some blue painter's tape to wrap the edges until installation is complete. If necessary, gently bend the air pipe on this side backward to allow clearance of the rear cutout on the cover. Also the fuel lines do swivel which will allow the covers to fit better.

Seat the cover in place by pressing the clips onto the fuel rail. You may find you need to bend your AIR tube back for a proper fit. This is not a problem as it bends quite easily with a firm push of the hand.

You're finished! Sit back and enjoy look of the FRCs!
